This week in our class

Dear Parents,

Today it's 47 days in Grade 1. Students are more confident about own learning and eager to inquire more about the world around them.

We had a busy week...
Let's start with our visitors.

Students from Grade 1J ( Lee and Levi) shared their knowledge about lines of symmetry.

Our students took their work as an example and did a great job. Here are a few examples.

We also use our measurement skills to record our length. Maria Rita's mom needed for Argentina's ponchos. Thank you to Zara for taking photos.

Students understand that time is measured using universal units of measure e.g. years and months. We were discussing different seasons and different months of the year.

What months are the 4 seasons?

In the northern hemisphere, Spring begins on 1 March, Summer on 1 June, Autumn on 1 September, and Winter on 1 December. For the southern hemisphere temperate zone, Spring begins on 1 September, Summer on 1 December, Autumn on 1 March, and Winter on 1 June.

Students played different games and created sentences with sight words.

Students had to find someone who could help build the sentence using sight words.

'Come here'. Azmat and Zara

'I see you'. Madeline and Amauro

'What do you want from me'?- Gien, Beritha, and Aishe

'She is two'. Japie and David

'Up and down'. Gabriel and Cayden

'Go to her, and play'.Popyeni, Lauren, Fudheni and Meithan

Playing bingo was a great revision of the day.

How can we make 12?

As you see, it was a busy week!

Regards
Ms. Beata
